NEW YORK - Another previously unheard Justin Bieber song has hit the web: "Ride," an uptempo dance track that leaked online Wednesday and finds the 16-year-old pop star reflecting on -- what else? -- love over 8-bit-style blips.
Watchful Beliebers have speculated that "Ride" might appear on Bieber's next album, but a rep for the singer tells Billboard.com, "It's a demo that he wrote for another artist" -- which would explain why Bieber sings, "I could be your queen, but you could be my boo," during the first verse.
"I love it when you call me 'baby,' baby," Bieber later croons, in a melody that will sound familiar to fans of his hit single, "Baby."
Though the rep did not say when Bieber recorded "Ride," some fans have speculated that it was cut some time ago, as the star, whose voice has grown noticeably deeper over the course of 2010, is singing in a higher register on the track.
Clocking in at just over two-and-a-half minutes, "Ride" is the second Bieber cut to leak in recent weeks.
"Latin Girl," a track produced by JHype and Goodwill & MGI, surfaced online late November and was recorded for the singer's upcoming album, according to a source. The song's status since the leak is unclear.
Bieber, who released a "My Worlds Acoustic" album on November 26, has thus far only confirmed a collaboration with Rascal Flatts for his next LP, which will be the follow-up to "My World 2.0" and one of the most anticipated releases of next year.
"I love Rascal Flatts and I'm honored that they are making music with me," he said.
