Ibadan group honours Olubadan, Arisekola, others

A group, the Ibadan Progressive Union, on Sunday honoured the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade 1; the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Abdulazeez Arisekola-Alao; and others for their contributions to the development of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The group led by Dr. Asimiyu Oyetunji honoured the dignitaries at the grand finale/award luncheon organised in commemoration of its 80th anniversary at the Mapo Hall, Ibadan.

While the Olubadan was honoured as the union’s grand patron, Arisekola-Alao, the state Chief Judge, Justice Badejoko Adeniji, industrialists, Chief Bode Amoo and Chief Kola Daisi; Prof. Bolanle Awe and the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran, were among 11 recipients of the distinguished service award.

Seven persons among whom were the late Chief Adegoke Adelabu, late Chief Nathaniel Idowu, and late Chief Lamidi Adedibu were honoured with post-humous merit awards.
