Voter registration: INEC begins staff training

The Independent National Electoral Commission will this week begin the training of its permanent staff on the usage of the Direct Data Capturing machines.

The Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Mr. Kayode Idowu, said those to be trained would in turn train ad hoc staff for voter registration.

Idowu said, “The train-the-trainers phase begins this week.”

He added that the commission had concluded arrangements to ensure that the training was hitch-free.

At least 360,000 ad hoc workers will be employed by the commission for the voter registration. The commission had last week explained that the training would begin in Abuja. It said that those trained in Abuja would go to six geo-political zones and train other operators.
