Even bombs couldn’t keep guests off Oputas’ bash

The recent bombings in the nation’s capital the previous day notwithstanding, it was a celebrity crowd that gathered for the 86th birthday anniversary of the ‘Lord Denning‘ of Nigeria, Justice Chukwudifu Oputa and launching of the Justice Oputa Foundation. Juliet Bumah reports In Nigeria today, it is said that the fear of bomb explosion is the beginning of wisdom. The bomb explosions at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, during the celebration of Nigeria’s golden jubilee anniversary on October 1, have made Nigerians to be wary of large gatherings, especially where the crème de la crème is expected.

So, guests who were to grace the 86th birthday of erudite retired judge of the Supreme Court, Justice Chukwudifu Oputa, and the launching of the Justice Oputa Foundation, tarried to the event which held at the Ladi Kwali Hall, Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Abuja, on October 2.
