TEDDER HALL UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN-ONCE A TEDDERITE, ALWAYS ONE.










Tedder Hall is one of the oldest, most prestigious, and respected Halls of Residence in the University of Ibadan. In fact, it is one of the two Halls which were fomerlly opened in the present site of the University. It is named after Rt. Hon Lord Tedder G.C.B.B.A. Hons. LLOC (CANTAB), Marshal of the Royal Force and Councilor University of Ibadan on 17th November, 1952 when the Hall was also formally opened.

Tedder Hall is to University of Ibadan what the Federal Capital Territory Abuja is to Nigeria, that is, the heart ans soul of the University, Tedder Hall is located within the circle, beginning from the back of Trenchard Hall, opposite Student Union Building main entrance,Faculty of Arts, and the University Central Mosque and Chapel ground.

Tedder Hall has produced a large number of personalities who are now the blood and voice of Nigeria, among whom are Chief Dr. Micheal Olu Omolayole, Prof. Wole Soyinka, Comrade Uche Chukwumerije, Senator Ahamadu Ali (Former PDP National Chairman), Chief Olu Falae, H.R.H. (Prof.) Obi J.C. Edozien, Dr. J.U Itusuel, George Akume (Former Governor of Benue State), His Excellency Theodore Orji Governor of Abia State, Honourable Ademola Omotosho, Ibadan North L.G.A. Chairman, Prof. Dupe Olatunbosun Chairman, Policy and Strategy Ekiti State, Prof. Nureni Lawore Honourable Commissioner Oyo State and Mr. Ayo Ajayi, Former M/D/CEO of UAC Nig. Plc. Amb. Joe Keshi, Former Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs Ministry.
