Day Tuface, others sang for youth and peace in Abuja

Some 20 top entertainers, including Tuface Idibia, Psquare, DJ Jimmy Jatt, Timaya, Bracket, 9ice, MI, Seyi law, I go die, Bovi, Hellen Paul and Buchi gave the debut edition of Nigerian Youths for Peace and Anti-corruption Concert recently held in Abuja.

Some 500 youth s had stormed the Eagle Square in the federal capital city. Popular comedian, Gordon, was the M.C of the occasion while lady Boliuma anchored the red-carpet corner.

The event, which was declared open by the Minister of State for FCT, Navy Captain rt, C.O. Olubolade, paraded notable speakers, including the Chairman of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission, Farida Waziri; human rights lawyer, Festus Keyamo; and MD of DOXA Ltd, Dayo Benjamin. Nollywood was also represented by several filmmakers.

The concert, according to the organisers – Global Network for Peace and Anti-Corruption, a non-governmental organisation based in Abuja – will be an annual event.

According to the founder of GNPAI, Vera Johnson, who was also a guest speaker at the occasion, it aimed at sensitising youths on the need to shun malpractices, violence, corruption, and other societal ills.
