Ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party congresses slated for October 18-20, the Southern Forum, on Tuesday said it has started sensitising the delegates on the need to vote President Goodluck Jonathan as the party’s candidate.
The Director of Organisation, Mobilisation, Strategies and Legal Services, at the Forum’s conference in Lagos, Dr. Benson Enikuomehin, said the forum has started meeting with stakeholders in the PDP, including delegates to ensure that Jonathan clinched the party’s ticket.
The PDP’s presidential candidate will be picked during the party’s congress in October.
Enikuomehin acknowledged that the various state governors in the PDP-led states were the major targets of the Forum’s sensitisation drive. He, however, added that the move would not be restricted to the southern part of the country.
“We are not only getting in touch with stakeholders in the southern part of the country, but also talking with those people who will cast their votes during the PDP congresses,” he stressed.
