Omotola waxes stronger

When Omotola announced plans to release a second album at the beginning of the year, many feared she may not attain the heights she has attained in the movie world but after hosting an album launch that had the crème de la crème of the society in attendance with twenty tables sold out for 1million naira, Omotola has with recent happenings continued to prove that as well as she has established herself as a force to reckon with in the movie industry she is ready to do the same in the music industry.

Recently, at the 50 years anniversary of renowned advertising company, Afromedia, Omotola performed on the same stage with D’Banj and she did it so well that she got applause from the audience that had some whom did not believe that Omosexy as she is widely known could be that good on stage. With her sexy live band, Omotola set the tone of what to expect from her future performances that night.

Starting off her performance that night with her popular song Gba a song off her debut album, Gba, Omotola performed with a live band all through with the audience asking for more. She thereafter went on to perform Honey Boy, a love ballad that got her wild applause from the audience that was made up of the young and the old. Not done yet, Omotola dished out Through the fire and Feel Alright two songs that further got her more applause. Not a few people were so impressed with the fact that unlike many musicians in Nigeria, Omotola has a 10 man well-put-together band.

Ali Baba and Tee-A the compeers further compound the applause and adulation that greeted her performance when they shared jokes about her acting prowess and beauty.

If her performance that night was anything to go, then the beautiful actress cum musician should go far with her new album as one of the fears that has always trailed her musical career is if she would be able to deploy the same dexterity she uses in acting on stage performances which is a true test of a good musician. Mariah Carey wants to be hands-on mother

Mariah Carey won't hire a nanny when her baby is born.
The 40-year-old singer - who announced she is expecting her first child with husband Nick Cannon last month - doesn't plan to have any help when her new arrival comes.
She said: "I'm going to be hands on, 'I wouldn't be like, 'Oh, I'm a having a child, yay! Let me get a nanny so I can give her the baby. Take the kid.' That doesn't work for me. I don't believe in that."
Mariah has also hinted she is planning to put her career on hold so she can completely focus on her child.
She added to Britain's OK! magazine: "You can get caught up in Hollywood-land and that's maybe not the best thing for kids, because they didn't ask for it. I don't know that I always felt safe as a child and that's nobody's fault. I feel like it's important to be responsible and to think, well maybe if I do this it's not the best thing for my child. You have to take a backseat a little bit, and as someone in the public eye you're not used to doing that."
Mariah is confident she and Nick, 30, will make great parents, although she isn't sure if she wants a big family.
She said: "I think we will make good parents and that we will be able to figure out how to do it properly. We'd be happy with one. We're so busy - if you have six kids running around no one gets what they need. What I want is to have children in a good way, with the right husband, with the right family life."

Britney Spears Biography

Name: Britney Spears
Profession: Singer, Actress
Birth Date: December 2, 1981
Height: 5’ 4”
Britney Spears was raised in the small town of Kentwood, La., where she began performing as a singer and dancer at a young age. Following an appearance on "Star Search," Spears auditioned for the Disney Channel's "The New Mickey Mouse Club" in 1990, but she was turned down because she was just 8 at the time. Not all was lost, however, because one of the show’s producers took an interest and introduced her to a New York agent, which led to Spears studying at the Professional Performing Arts School. Soon she was appearing in several television commercials and off-Broadway plays.
In 1993, Spears was invited back by Disney and she became a Mouseketeer at the age of 11. However, the show was cancelled after Spears’ second season, despite a talented cast that included the likes of Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Christina Aguilera and Keri Russell.
Spears decided to return to New York, where she went about auditioning for pop bands and recording demo tapes, one of which eventually landed her a deal with Jive Records. In late 1998, she released her debut single,  “...Baby One More Time,” which was an immediate smash hit. When her debut album of the same title was released in early 1999, it entered the charts at No. 1 and remained at the top for six weeks.
In the spring of 2000, Spears released her highly-anticipated sophomore album, "Oops!...I Did It Again." Behind the success of the title track, the album entered the charts at No. 1 and sold over a million copies in the first week, setting a new record for single-week sales by a female artist.
Her next release, 2001’s “Britney,” did not achieve the same level of success, but it was her third straight album to debut at No. 1 and proved that she had already cemented herself as a pop culture icon.

Who wants Shade Alesh’s marriage dead?

Shade Aleshinloye
Those promoting the rumour want us all to believe that her new found wealth is as a result of some kurukere waka she has been up to for a while now with a South West gomina. They also would like us to accept the contestable fact that the society lady’s matrimonial home is already in rubbles.
But it is left to be imagined why anybody will want Shade Aleshinloye’s talk-of-the-town marriage to oil magnate and former Local Government boss, Rilwan Aleshinloye, to scatter. While the rumour mill is hot on the gist of their troubled wedlock, mum has been the word from the couple themselves on the matter. No, no, no. I disagree with you. How can you say silent means consent? Anyway, na your opinion.
The amebos are even saying besides her allged corner kicks with the Owanbe gomina, Shade’s new found wealth is another reason why Oloye Rilwan Adisa Aleshinloye, the original descendant of the famous Olowofujas, is now avoiding her like a plague. They claim she is now too pompous to submit to the man who brought her from obscurity to social limelight a couple of years ago when he married her with pomp and pageantry!
People can talk oh! CLS is however, finding it difficult, despite the much handwriting on the wall, to belief that Shade’s marriage is threatened. Maybe Chief has been spending more time away from home lately because he needs more time to revive his businesses after his stint in politics.
And maybe the gomina, though notorious in the art of wooing married women, is merely a new business partner of Shade’s. Don’t forget she has a long string of businesses that cover everything from Engineering to street trading.
Until Shade and or her hubby confirms the rumour, we refuse to be part of the plot to topple their union. Case closed!
