Australia's Next Top Model mix-up has silver lining for Kelsey Martinovich and Amanda Ware

MIX-UP: Kelsey Martinovich with Amanda Ware, the series winner of Australia's Next Top Model in Sydney
THEY auditioned for Australia's Next Top Model in the hope of becoming household names across the nation.
Now, thanks to the debacle in the reality show's final episode, Kelsey Martinovich  and Amanda Ware are international stars.
Tuesday night's ANTM blunder featured in reports around the world yesterday as the international media grabbed hold of the story surrounding the mix-up, in which Martinovich was incorrectly named the winner.
Moments later, host Sarah Murdoch had to correct her announcement, declaring Ware the winner.
The story featured heavily in overseas online media reports.
It's no wonder, then, that Martinovich – who scored a consolation prize of $25,000 and an all-expenses paid New York trip – is upbeat. "It's definitely not all bad," Martinovich said.
"[Foxtel] obviously felt horrible about the situation and really wanted to look after me, so I'm thrilled."
Both girls will also share the main prize – their image on the front page of Australian Harpers Bazaar.
"I'm glad it will be a split cover," said Ware, the eventual contest winner.
"I think it's fair that there was that consolation."
Opinion remains divided over the incident, with online blogs and sites speculating whether or not the mistake was innocent or a carefully-staged publicity stunt to promote the series internationally.
