The leadership of the Nigerian Navy has announced postings of senior officers to head its various commands, ships and establishments.
A statement signed by the new Director of information, Captain Kabir Aliyu, reveals that the appointments affects eight Rear Admirals, 38 Commodores and 18 Captains.
Aliyu said the changes were meant to reposition the Navy for greater performance in the discharge of its statutory responsibilities.
In the postings, a former Chief of Administration in the Naval Headquarters, Rear admiral BA Raji, has been moved to head the administration department of the defence Headquarters.
According to the statement, the former flag officer commanding the Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral IB Acholonu, is now Chief of Training and Operations in the Naval headquarters.
Also, the Chief of Accounts and Budget, Naval Headquarters has been appointed the Moderator at the National Institute for strategic Studies, Kuru, Plateau state.
It states that Rear Admiral E. Ijoma has been moved from his position as the Director of Development in DHQ to the Nigerian Navy Engineering College, Sapele.
