People visit Chenghuang Temple, or Town's God Temple, in Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong province on Oct 30, the first day it was open to the public, for free, after a one-year renovation. The temple, built in 1370, was a landmark in Guangzhou in the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties. The renovation cost nearly 20 million yuan ($3 million).
