Skuki clears air on KISS break up

To balance earlier reports on their fall out with KISS and set things in right perspective , B.A.N.G.E.R brothers, Skuki have denied allegations of non-performance as being the reason for terminating their contract with KISS.

According to the CEO of Daphella Entertainment, Mr Daniel Attoigbe, “The contract between Daphella Entertainment and Kiss Group expired on 30th of August, 2010 and both parties mutually agreed not to renew the contract. This is not about Skuki because Skuki has never failed to perform”.
Daphella Entertainment is the label the B.A.N.G.E.R boys have been signed to since 2008.
Upon signing up the boys whose introductory hit ‘Fire’ shot them into limelight, Daphella boss engaged KISS Event media to manage the duo called Skuki, in September 2009. The deal, he said, was between Daphella and Kiss in respect of Skuki and not between Skuki and Kiss.
Part of the agreement was for KISS to manage the artistes’ publicity, promotion and marketing as concerns their debut album B.A.N.G.E.R – including outdoor performances.
It is an open secret however that the duo’s debut album B.A.N.G.E.R releases mid-way this year did not attain the height expected considering the fact that the group had been named Best New Act by the Hip Hop World Awards only few weeks before the release. While Skuki’s former managers blamed it on the act’s inconsistency, Mr Attoigbe says ‘the album’s circulation and availability was due to the loss of a key member of the (album) marketer’s team’.
In moving on, the label has decided to repackage the album, B.A.N.G.E.R in a new look and additional track as they relaunch to the public in a few weeks.
Skuki on their own part continue to play at different engagements determined to sharpen their skills while also Building Africa’s New Generation through Entertainment and Recreation (B.A.N.G.E.R) The boys have just returned from South Africa where they shot their third video titled ‘Stamina’. ‘Skuki has lots of shows including a tour booked into February next year’, their manager said.
