Threats by the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta to unleash another terror on Abuja have continued to generate fresh anxieties in the Federal Capital Territory. While residents of the capital city have since the incident of October 1 independence anniversary celebration been living with bated breath, the security agencies said there was no cause for alarm as they remained unshaken and were on top of the situation.
But in spite of assurances by the Police and other security apparatuses, those who follow events have said that warning signs of an imminent attack are pervasive. This has kept the people in the capital city under perpetual fear and apprehension.
