Tuface
I should begin with an explanation about the above headline. It is fashioned after such film titles like the Shawshank Redemption. I took some liberty and poetic licence not to toe the grammatically correct line otherwise the headline would’ve read as either: Tuface’s Redemption or The redemption of Tuface (Innocent Idibia). Anyhow, isn’t it somehow weird to be spending so much time dissecting my own headline when I have not even touched the subject matter?
Well, as you may (or may not) know, after the release of Tuface’s last album, The Unstoppable, about two years ago, the award winning singer got strung out on the ropes as if to dry out, literally.
As AIRTIME readers would recall, quite a lot of space was dedicated to that album on this page. In that review, ‘Is he really unstoppable?’ my thoughts were that the album was a very ambitious project, long on form but very short on substance. There were very nice beats and sounds, no doubt.
There also were quite a few collaborations, even one purportedly with American R&B singer, R. Kelly. Although considering the fact that he featured only in the chorus, it‘s not inconceivable the man was not aware he did a ‘duet’ with Tuface. May be it was his shadow that got caught.
