Forty minutes after the scheduled time for the meeting between leaders of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and President Goodluck Jonathan, only a few members of the congress have strolled in.
There are speculations that the congress leaders might be planning to boycott the meeting.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Yayale Ahmed; the Head of Service, Steve Oransanye and the Minister of Finance, Olusegun Aganga were the first officials to arrive and have been waiting in the quiet banquet hall.
Some of the president's aides also arrived to check the venue, an indication that the president was ready and waiting.
Reporters, photo journalists and cameramen have all been hanging around waiting for the arrival of the parties.
There are indications that the meeting may run late into the night and if matters are not resolved, may impact on the weekly federal executive council meetings scheduled to hold tomorrow.
